Colin White has been interested in comix since introduced to Hergé's Tintin at the tender age of three. According to his parents, Colin sometimes paraded around the house sporting an onion bag on his head in attempt to emulate Tintin's trademark tuft.
Over two decades later Colin finds himself not only still making drawings, but still trying — in a way — to be like Tintin. During his graduate studies in the UK he wrote his thesis on the growing genre of travelogue comix, and drew comix that documented some of his own travels.
Colin began putting his comix and other art on the web sometime in 2001. His experimental flash based comix drew the attention of Scott McCloud, who uses some of Colin's work in his lectures on webcomics, and suggests Colin is a "name to watch out for."
Currently Colin lives in Ottawa and hopes to make a living from his comix one day. Until then he welcomes all freelance illustration and cartooning jobs to make ends meet. -
